Privacy policy

Last updated: 7 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Double Trouble Gang collects when you visit doubletroublegang.com, buy from us or join our email list, why we need it, who we share it with and what rights you have. We aim to keep it short and plain.

Who we are

We are Double Trouble Gang PTY LTD, registered office 45 Henley Road, Norwich, England, NR2 3NL. We are the controller of your personal information. Contact us at [email protected].

What we collect, and why

  • Orders and accounts. Your name, email, delivery and billing address, phone number if you give one, what you ordered (including any custom text for bespoke items) and your order history. We use this to take payment, make and send your order, give you support and keep legally required records. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you, and legal obligation.
  • Payments. Card and wallet payments are handled by Stripe (and PayPal, once we offer it). We never see or store your full card number.
  • Customer service. If you email us we keep the conversation so we can help you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.
  • Email offers and news. If you sign up through the form on our site, or tick the box at checkout, we store your email address (and your name if we have it), where and when you agreed, and the wording you agreed to. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. See “Email marketing” below.
  • Security and site operation. Our servers and our security provider process technical data such as your IP address and browser type so the site works and to protect it from abuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure shop.

Email marketing

We only send marketing emails to people who asked for them. Joining gets you a one-time welcome code for 10% off your first order, sent to the address you gave. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us at [email protected]. If you unsubscribe we stop sending marketing straight away (we keep a record that you opted out, so we do not email you again by mistake).

If you have joined our list and you accept our optional cookie (see below), we also store a short summary of your activity with us, so we can send emails that are more relevant: the last few products you looked at, what is in your bag, and the number, total and status of your orders. If you leave items in your bag, we may send you one reminder email. We may also record whether you open our emails and which links you click.

We run our own email system (Listmonk, on servers we control) and send through Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES).

Cookies and similar technologies

  • Essential cookies keep your bag, checkout and country and currency working. They are needed for the shop to function, so they do not need your consent.
  • dtl_consent remembers your cookie choice (for up to 180 days).
  • dtl_vid is an optional cookie. It is only set if you press Accept on our cookie banner. It gives your browser a random ID so we can remember products you have viewed and link your visit to your email once you sign up, log in or check out. It lasts up to 180 days, and the associated data is kept for up to 90 days. You can withdraw consent at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
  • Analytics. We use Plausible Analytics, hosted by us. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal data about you.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with companies that help us run the shop, and only what they need:

  • Stripe (and PayPal, once enabled) to take payments.
  • Royal Mail, to deliver your order (your name, address and, for some services, phone number or email).
  • Google, which provides our business email (Google Workspace). It processes emails you send us and order emails we send you.
  • Cloudflare, which provides website delivery and security.
  • Hetzner, which hosts our website and systems (servers in Germany).
  • Amazon Web Services, which delivers our emails (Amazon SES, Stockholm).

We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC or the police.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of the companies above are based, or process data, outside the UK, including in the EU and the United States, and Royal Mail passes delivery details to overseas carriers for international orders. Where we do this we rely on safeguards such as the UK’s adequacy decisions and data bridges, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contract terms.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: at least 6 years, as required for tax and accounting.
  • Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details. We may also remove people who have not opened or clicked our emails for a long time.
  • Browsing and bag summaries linked to the optional cookie: up to 90 days.
  • Customer service emails: as long as needed to help you and handle any follow-up.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted (we have to keep order records for the time above), to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your information for marketing, we will tell you and, where needed, ask for your consent again.
